Overview

The Tangier product suite covers the entire life cycle of creating and main emergency physician work schedules. From gathering physician requests, to publishing the completed schedule, to tracking actual hours worked, Tangier does it all. Below is a brief description of how Tangier facilitates the scheduling process. We also offer a virtual online tour. To access the tour, please complete the request form found at the Virtual Tour tab.

Timeline: Prior to the Schedule Period - Physicians

1. Physicians may enter their schedule requests (off time and requested shifts) using the Tangier Web™  Personal Calendar (if authorized by their department).

2. Requests may be entered for the upcoming scheduling period until the department's "Request Cut Off Date" has elapsed. Requests may also be entered for future scheduling periods.

3. Physicians monitor their Personal Calendar to track the status of their requests. A request is initially defaulted to a "Pending" status until an administrator reviews and approves/denies it.

4. Physicians may enter "Personal Events" to track their non-work related obligations and appointments at any time.

5. Physicians can view their assigned shifts once the schedule  is "Published" for the upcoming period (see below).

6. Physicians can download the published schedule, along with their approved Requests and Personal Events, to a PALM device.

7. Physicians can use their Personal Calendar to send their administrator a note as needed.

Timeline: Prior to the Schedule Period - Administrators

1. Once the department's "Request Cut Off Date" has elapsed (or sooner), the scheduler uses the Tangier Web™ Request Calendar to review and approve/deny physician requests.

2. The scheduler has the option of having request approvals/denials immediately viewable by Physicians, or they can use an interim status to internally approve/deny a request while they attempt to create a viable schedule.

3. The scheduler uses Tangier™ to create the physician work schedule for the upcoming schedule period.

4. Once the schedule is completed, the scheduler places it in a "Published" status, making the shift assignments for the period viewable by Physicians using the Personal Calendar.

5. Tangier™ will automatically finalize the status of all physician requests based on the published schedule.

6. Administrators may send their physicians a note via the Admin Calendar as needed.

2. Physicians may use the Tangier Web™ Sign In/Sign Out page to reflect their actual hours worked ( if authorized by their department).

3. Physicians may use the Tangier Web™ Shift Swap page to automatically swap shifts with other physicians (if authorized by their department).

Timeline: During the Schedule Period - Administrators

1. Schedulers make changes to the published schedule as necessary via Tangier Web™ or Tangier EPS™.

2. Schedule changes are reflected immediately to all physicians using Tangier Web™.

3. The Tangier™ Eligible Provider dialog/page automates finding a suitable replacement for a problem shift.

4. The Tangier™ Adjust Worked dialog/page allows for the tracking of bonuses and or increase compensation required to entice a physician to work a hard to fill shift.

5. The Tangier™ Adjust Planned dialog/page allows shifts to be split to accommodate two physicians (or more) working a single shift.

6. The Tangier EPS™ Rapid Entry Screen or the Tangier Web™ Time & Accounting Page allows the actual duration and financial information of a shift to be reflected. This information can be automatically interfaced to the client's internal systems (Payroll, HR etc.).

7. Administrative personnel can run a full range of Reports to better manage the operation of their department's.
