Tangier Web Requests Calendar Page

The Requests Calendar

The Requests Calendar is an web-based application that is used to review and approve requests that are entered by providers via their Tangier Web Personal Calendar. Two types of schedule requests, Off Requests and Shift Requests, may be entered by a provider. These schedule requests must be reviewed and approved by the scheduler before they are honored by Tangier. The scheduler can choose to disable either type of request via the Tangier EPS Location Screen's Tangier Web tab. When a provider first enters a schedule request, it defaults to a Pending status, meaning that the request has not yet been reviewed or approved by their scheduler. It is the scheduler's responsibility to approve pending schedule requests so that they are honored by Tangier.

Schedule requests should be reviewed and approved after the request cutoff date has passed and prior to making any shift assignments for the new schedule period.

Five statuses can be applied to requests

Request Pending. When a provider enters a request through his/her Tangier Web Personal Calendar, it defaults as a pending request. Tangier does not honor requests with this status and these requests only  appear in Tangier EPS via the "Off Request" and "Shift Request" reports.

Pending Approved. This is an intermediary status that allows a scheduler to tentatively approve requests while keeping the provider in the dark. For example, the scheduler may want to attempt to create a schedule before letting their providers know which requests can be honored. Once a pending request has been changed to the pending approved status, the request is honored by Tangier and will show in all areas of Tangier EPS. Any automatically generated schedule will honor pending approved requests and the scheduler will be warned if they attempt to manually violate a request in a pending approved status.  These requests remain as pending requests on the Provider’s Tangier Web Personal Calendar, so the provider does not know the request has been approved.

Pending Denied.  Pending denied requests are not honored by Tangier and these requests only  appear in Tangier EPS via the "Off Request" and "Shift Request" reports. These requests remain as pending requests on the Provider’s Tangier Web Personal Calendar, so the provider does not know that the request has not been granted.

Request Approved. When a request is updated to the approved status by the scheduler, Tangier will honor the request and it will show in all areas of Tangier EPS. In addition, the request's status is updated on the provider’s Tangier Web Personal Calendar to the approved status so that the provider knows their request has been granted.

Request Denied.  Denied requests are not honored by Tangier and these requests only  appear in Tangier EPS via the "Off Request" and "Shift Request" reports. In addition, the provider’s Tangier Web Personal Calendar is updated so that the provider knows their request has not been granted.

Finalizing Pending Requests

When a completed schedule is published, via the Tangier Web Admin Calendar or the Tangier EPS Schedule Screen, requests that are in Pending Approved or Pending Denied status automatically will be set to the corresponding final status of Approved or Denied and will be viewable on the provider’s Tangier Web Personal Calendar.

How to Enter Requests (Close Help)

In addition to updating the status of existing requests from the "Requests Calendar" page, schedulers may also enter requests (Off Requests or Shift Requests) for their providers. Off Requests are used to block a provider from working on a particular date while Shift Requests can be used to indicate that a provider should work on a particular date/shift. As an alternative to Shift Requests, the scheduler can simply assign the provider shifts via the Tangier Web Admin Calendar or Tangier EPS Schedule Screen.
